January 25th, 2011

On Tuesday 13th January, 2011 the best rowers from Durham City competed in the County Durham Indoor Rowing Final at Maiden Castle. They tested their strength and stamina against the best from Sedgefield, Easington and Chester-le-Street on Concept 2 rowing machines all wired up to a live projection for all to view. It provided the chance for some of our top young rowers to post their best times of the year, and for others new to the sport the opportunity to simply improve their technique in a competition with others. Four rowers from each age group/category will now represent County Durham at the Get Going, Get Going North East Regional Final on 24th March, 2011 where they will compete against their rivals from Northumberland, Tyne & Wear and Tees Valley. Good luck to them all!
