Running Like The Wind at Meadowfield
October 10th, 2013
23 schools took part in the Key Stage 2 cross country, over 700 children came along to a windy Meadowfield to compete to earn their place to represent Durham and Chester-le-Street at the County Cross Country Competition in March.

In the morning events Cestria Primary School shone claiming a team victory in the Year 3/4 boys’ race and the Year 5/6 girls’ race. Finchale Primary School had strong Year 3/4 competitors, winning the girls’ race and finishing second in the boys’ race. Bluecoat CE Junior School had some great performances across the board and gained first place in the Y5/6 boys’ race.
The afternoon races had some very strong teams with the lowest score of the day coming from St Margaret’s C.E Primary School in the Year 5/6 Girls race, with St Margaret’s team also winning the Year 5/6 Boys race. In the Year 3/4 races it was Shincliffe Primary School who came out on top in the girls’ race and Newker Primary School Triumphed in the boys’ race.
