Soccertots Returns for KS1
October 2nd, 2013
Back by popular demand, Soccertots!
300 young footballers all from Key Stage 1 headed to Maiden Castle for a fun-filled morning of football activities.
The little soccertots were split into two groups, with the opportunity to take part in skill based activities and matches. The skill activities were set up to develop fundamental skills including, heading, dribbling and passing. Over on the 3G pitch small pitches were set up for 5-a-side matches, for some of the youngsters this was their first experience of playing a proper game.
Despite the rain all the children were thoroughly enjoying themselves.
A big thank you to the BTEC sport students from St Leonard’s who helped with the skill activities and referring the games. Also thanks to Graeme Carrick from The FA Tesco Skills for his help and support with the festival.
Unfortunately the rain was too much and the afternoon festival had to be cancelled, but we hope to see you all at the Summer Soccertots festivals.
