The final Gifted and Talented sessions took place on 9thand 10thJuly.

Most of the children started with the programme in Year 5, where after being selected by their school attended a 2 day camp. In Year 6 they then had 3 after school sessions hosted by different secondary schools. Check out the news and gallery to see what they got up to!

On the first day of the camp we were at Maiden Castle where everyone got to have a taster of 6 different activities. There was Judo, Fencing, Hockey and Tennis as well as strength and conditioning and a FUNS session.

Everyone certainly did have fun, getting to try some new sports and improve their skills in others. The sun was beating down but despite the heat everyone put in a fantastic effort.

On day 2 we were off to Gateshead Stadium to work on athletics skills. The children had the opportunity to use some fantastic facilities doing pole vault, sprints, high jump and long jump. The skills on show were incredible, defiatnly some future athletes!

It was a fantastic two days camp. We hope everyone had lots of fun and keeps up all their great sporting work at their new secondary school.
