Superstar Athletes at County Finals
July 8th, 2013
A team of talented athletes got to take on the best athletes from the other SSP areas at the 6thDurham County Primary Athletics Finals on 28thJune.
After gaining a place in the team through qualification at the Durham and Chester-le-Street finals pupils from 15 of our primary schools represented their respective areas.
There was a whole lot of individual success, with everyone putting in an enormous amount of effort. 13 gold medals were won by Durham and Chester-le-Street, and a lot of 2ndand 3rdplaces too.
From the results it was going to be close between Durham and Chester-le-Street as to who would be the winning partnership. Durham where looking to hold on to the trophy but it wasn’t to be, Chester-le-Street just managed to edge ahead to be crowned the Durham County Primary Athletics winners.
Despite the rain it was a fantastic day for Durham and Chester-le-Street. Congratulations to each and every one of our athletes, you were truly amazing and represented the SSP well.
